State Senator Melissa Ratcliff (D- Cottage Grove) will hold a listening session with State Representative Randy Udell (D- Fitchburg) on Friday, March 21, at the Fitchburg Public Library, 5530 Lacy Rd., from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

After a brief presentation regarding the budget and budget process, there will be a question-and-answer period.

“Budgets are about more than numbers and dollar signs: they are about our values and priorities,” Senator Ratcliff said. “The Governor’s Budget makes important and significant investments in areas including our schools, our environment, our healthcare, and our communities. Wisconsin Republicans have indicated they will remove every item and start from scratch to create their own budget. There is chaos on the Federal level that we must stand up against. It is so important to hear directly from the people we serve about their priorities as we begin this budget process.”

Representative Udell added, “This is a critical time in Wisconsin as we determine what we will fund and how we will fund it over the next two years. These listening sessions are a wonderful opportunity for us to share information and for legislators to get a first-hand understanding of what our residents are concerned about.”

For those unable to attend the listening session, questions or comments about the budget can be sent to Senator Ratcliff at Sen.Ratcliff@legis.wisconsin.gov or Representative Udell at Rep.Udell@legis.wisconsin.gov.
