Senator Melissa Ratcliff (D-Cottage Grove) released the following statement following Governor Evers’ State of the State Address:

“In his speech tonight, the Governor focused on key initiatives that I fully support including:  reducing costs for Wisconsin families, investing in comprehensive mental health services for our kids, lowering the costs of child care, preventing gun violence, enacting middle-class tax cuts, and other initiatives that will help keep Wisconsin working.

The Governor’s priorities are fully aligned with the bills I and other legislative Democrats introduced last week to lower prescription drug costs, reduce the costs of groceries and provide tax relief to renters and homeowners. Together, we will improve lives and benefit the people we serve.

I look forward to working with Governor Evers to get things done for the people of Wisconsin. I am hopeful we can find bi-partisan agreement in the Legislature to move Wisconsin forward.”
