MADISON, Wis. – Activity ramped up at the state Capitol on Monday as members of the 107th session of the Wisconsin State Legislature were sworn into office.
Sen. Patrick Testin (R-Stevens Point) is beginning his third term representing the 24th Senate District in Central Wisconsin. He is anticipating a productive session where lawmakers will advance legislation that benefits all residents of the state.
“It is an absolute honor and privilege that the voters of the 24th Senate District continue to put their trust in me to advocate for their priorities down in Madison,” Sen. Testin said. “While I will always work on all issue areas, I expect to primarily focus on cutting taxes, increasing access to healthcare in rural Wisconsin, strengthening our agriculture industry, assisting military veterans and bolstering our workforce.”
For the 2025-26 legislative session, Sen. Testin will be heavily involved in putting together the state’s biennial budget as Senate vice-chair of the powerful Joint Finance Committee.
Sen. Testin will also be serving as chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Revenue and as vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Health. Additionally, Sen. Testin will be the co-chair of the Joint Survey Committee on Tax Exemptions and a member of the Senate Committee on Financial Institutions and Sporting Heritage and the Joint Committee on Information Policy and Technology.
Sen. Testin has also been selected by his colleagues to continue to serve as president pro tempore of the Wisconsin State Senate. He was first elected to the role in November of 2020.
