Madison… Yesterday, Governor Evers signed a letter expressing support for the ICE rioters in Los Angeles. Senator Tomczyk (R-Mosinee) released the following statement regarding the Governor’s actions:
“What’s happening in Los Angeles isn’t a protest. It’s a riot. It’s destruction. And it’s a direct challenge to law enforcement, public safety, and the rule of law in America.
“I stand fully and unapologetically with ICE, with federal law enforcement, and with the President’s decision to deploy the National Guard and the Marines to restore order. Federal officers were enforcing the law. That is their duty — and they were met with violence, firebombs, and chaos in the streets.
“How did Governor Evers respond?
“By joining Democrat governors in signing a letter of support for the ICE protestors. These are not peaceful demonstrators — they are agitators, rioters, and anarchists. He is choosing them over law-abiding citizens, over our police, and over federal agents who put their lives on the line.
“As if that weren’t bad enough, he issued a memo last month instructing Wisconsin state employees not to cooperate with ICE. That’s right — the Governor of our state told public servants to defy federal law enforcement. He is actively obstructing lawful immigration enforcement and undermining those sworn to protect us.
“When will Governor Evers and his allies put American citizens and Wisconsin resident first? It’s time for our leaders to remember who they work for. Not the loudest protestors. Not the social media mobs. But the hardworking, law-abiding people of Wisconsin.”
