“My heart breaks for the Corder family, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Police Department. Mary Jo and I ask everyone to pray for Kendall Corder, surviving officer Christopher McCray, their families and all of those protecting us at this devastating time.
This the third time this month that Milwaukee police officers have been the target of gunfire and would-be assassins. This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. The entire city of Milwaukee and its criminal justice system, including judges, district attorneys and city leaders need to start treating violence seriously and enforcing the law to the fullest extent. Something needs to change, or we will never see a different outcome. The violence needs to stop.
