“Democrats and illegal immigration activists had a temper tantrum today about a bill that they claim affects exactly ZERO people in Wisconsin. Under current law, illegal immigrants are not eligible for taxpayer-funded health care, for good reason. The only reason to oppose AB 308 is because you want illegal aliens to have taxpayer-funded health care coverage. Otherwise, there is no reason to oppose it.
“This bill ensures Wisconsin isn’t the next state to try this failed experiment. Minnesota and Illinois both allowed taxpayer-funded illegal immigrant health care in recent years. It cost Illinois over $900 million last year, a 200% increase. Both states Illinois ended the programs on a bipartisan basis earlier this year. Even California recognized the crazy high cost this program,
freezing enrollment.
“I can’t emphasize this enough. Wisconsin Democrats had a meltdown about a policy that isn’t happening in Wisconsin. A policy that liberal states like Illinois, California and Minnestoa realized was an expensive mistake. Wisconsin Democrats are so extreme, they refuse to acknowledge and learn the lessons of it, but rather want to charge ahead because ‘they know better,’ and every taxpayer in Wisconsin will pay the price.”
