“Today, Republicans tried to make housing a little more affordable by repealing Evers’ 400-year property tax increase. For the second time, Senate Democrats voted to increase housing costs and raise property taxes without accountability.
“Senate Democrats had the opportunity to make child care more affordable by encouraging job creators to create child care programs. And today, they voted against making child care more affordable – TWICE!
“For years, we’ve heard how expensive a college education can be. Rather than make college more affordable by eliminating ‘phantom fees’ that drive up the cost of college, Senate Democrats voted to allow UW schools to charge more money just because the class was taken online.
“Senate Democrats voted to ensure that removal of an ectopic pregnancy or a stillborn baby is an abortion, subject to abortion restrictions in Wisconsin, and Senate Democrats voted against improving the reporting of child abuse.
“Senate Democrats’ version of ‘affordability’ is creating expensive government programs, driving up taxes for everyone, and actually making life in Wisconsin less affordable.”
