MADISON – Senator Eric Wimberger released the following statement after being inaugurated to serve a second term representing Northeast Wisconsin in the State Senate:

“I’m grateful as ever for the privilege to work in the State Senate on behalf of my neighbors for another four years. In the coming months, I will continue to fight for consequential issues: clean drinking water, fiscal responsibility, and – most importantly – a transparent and effective government that works to its best potential for every resident of Wisconsin.”

Senator Wimberger will again serve on the state’s budget-writing committee, the Joint Finance Committee, where he previously championed Northeast Wisconsin’s interests by securing $50 million for the Southern Bridge in De Pere, as well as $125 million to create a PFAS Trust Fund to fight forever chemical contamination in local water sources. Senator Wimberger will also lead the Joint Legislative Audit Committee as the Senate co-chair, which is the Legislature’s oversight committee tasked with investigating fraudulent and wasteful spending in the state government.

Senator Wimberger added, “With the 2025-2026 Legislative Session starting today, my office remains open as always to assist constituents of the 2nd Senate District in handling any issues they may be experiencing with their state government.”
