MILWAUKEE, WI—With the Wisconsin Supreme Court election quickly approaching on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Souls to the Polls Wisconsin, a non-partisan voter education and advocacy organization, is hosting a faith and community brunch and briefing on Monday, March 10, 2025 to address what’s at stake and the issues on the ballot. The race for Wisconsin Supreme Court will be a defining one for Wisconsinites on issues such as workers’ rights, voting rights, and healthcare access. In light of recent news that billionaire Elon Musk is investing millions of dollars into this race, Souls to the Polls, faith leaders, and community groups are taking a stand to say: Wisconsin is not for sale.
At the brunch, Milwaukee clergy and voters will hear from political experts, voting rights activists, and faith and community leaders about why this election is crucial. Attendees have the opportunity to strategize on how to get out the vote in their community, discuss how faith and community groups can work together to build awareness and engagement in this election, and strengthen the voting power of underrepresented and disenfranchised groups including Black and Brown voters, senior citizens, student voters, and low-income voters. This diverse coalition will hold the line against attacks on Wisconsinites’ freedoms, and send a message that Wisconsin’s elections can’t be bought.
On the importance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, Reverend Greg Lewis, Executive Director of Souls to the Polls stated, “We are watching the dismantling of our federal government in Washington, D.C. Now, billionaire Elon Musk has put millions of dollars into this Wisconsin Supreme Court race. Musk’s values are not our values. In Wisconsin, we stand up for our Black and Brown brothers and sisters; we stand up for the poor; and we stand up for access to Medicaid, Social Security, and other vital programs on the chopping block. That’s why we’re fighting to make sure people know about this election and know the truth. Vote on or before April 1st!”
Souls to the Polls invited both candidates for the Wisconsin Supreme Court to submit a short video testimonial for the event. Susan Crawford accepted.
