VERONA, WI – Yesterday, Senate Democrats toured Jensen Christmas Tree Farm in Verona as the next stop on the Affordable Wisconsin Tour. Democratic Leader Dianne Hesselbein, Senator Kelda Roys, and Rep. Jenna Jacobson toured the farm with owner Lance Jensen to highlight the pinch Wisconsinites are feeling, as prices rise, tariffs take effect, and the holiday season continues.

Senate Democrats also highlighted the rising price of holiday-related goods like groceries, gifts, and home goods like the Jensens’ trees. This year, Thanksgiving meals were about 7% more expensive for Wisconsin families, with no signs that the rest of the holiday season will be any less expensive.

Democratic Leader, Senator Diane Hesselbein on their tour of Jensen Christmas Tree Farm:

“Business owners large and small are battling the affordability crisis in Wisconsin brought on by Republican inaction and the Trump administration’s attacks on our bottom lines. Senate Democrats visited the Jensen Christmas Tree farm to get a better understanding on how this issue of rising costs is affecting the holiday economy, and it is clear that consumers across the state are feeling the pressure. As we continue our Affordable Wisconsin Tour we remain committed to listening to residents on how the state legislature can support Wisconsinites.”

State Representative Jenna Jacobson on their tour of Jensen Christmas Tree Farm:

“Wisconsin is home to over 800 Christmas tree farms, ranking in the top 10 nationwide in trees sold and as the holiday approaches and families struggle with rising costs this economic insecurity has started to affect these businesses. As Republicans in Madison rubberstamp the current administration’s disastrous policies, Senate Democrats are standing up for Wisconsin families. We are focused on delivering results and lowering costs so that everyone can focus on enjoying the holiday season rather than stressing about how much it’ll cost.”
