WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Next 50 today announced endorsements of three proven leaders in battleground state legislatures who are skilled legislators, building Democratic power, and showing what’s possible when we invest in next-generation leadership: Georgia House Minority Whip Sam Park, Wisconsin Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer, and Pennsylvania State Representative and DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta.

While Washington remains gridlocked, these leaders are showing what’s possible when Democrats fight for—and deliver—real results.

“While the federal government is in chaos, our leaders are proving there’s a different way forward,” said Mari Manoogian, Executive Director of The Next 50. “Reps. Park, Neubauer, and Kenyatta are in the rooms where it happens—leading caucuses, passing legislation that improves lives, and rebuilding trust with voters who feel that the Democratic Party isn’t prioritizing them. They’re leading the fight for a Democratic majority in Wisconsin. They’re pushing for Medicaid expansion in Georgia. They’re rebuilding the Democratic brand from the ground up in Pennsylvania and nationally. This is what winning looks like—and we’re going long on leaders who know how to do it.”

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of The Next 50 and to stand with a new generation of leaders committed to fighting for our democracy and protecting the power of the people to shape our own future,” said Georgia House Minority Whip Sam Park. “I’m grateful for their trust and support as we work to empower the next generation of leaders to expand our freedoms, safeguard our rights, and build a better Georgia where every family can thrive.”

“I’m deeply grateful to have the endorsement of The Next 50,” said Pennsylvania State Representative and DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta. “Their commitment to building lasting, progressive change aligns with my vision for a Pennsylvania where every family can thrive. This support isn’t just a vote of confidence—it’s a reminder that the work we’re doing together matters and will shape the future for generations to come.”

“I am honored to be part of The Next 50’s 2025-2026 endorsement class,” said Wisconsin Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer. “This important organization supports and uplifts leaders across the country who are putting forward a new vision for the Democratic party. I am grateful for The Next 50’s support and excited to continue working with them to win elections and improve people’s lives.”

About Georgia House Minority Whip Sam Park

Representative Sam Park serves as the Whip of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, where he is leading the fight to expand access to healthcare, defend democracy, and flip the State House. Born and raised in Georgia by a single mother and the grandson of Korean War refugees, Park was inspired to run for office by his mother’s battle with cancer. Now in his fifth term, he continues to champion the rights of everyday Georgians to quality healthcare, good schools, and affordable housing. He also serves as General Counsel for Positive Impact Health Centers, a nonprofit working to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Georgia.

About Wisconsin Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer

Greta Neubauer has represented her home community of Racine County in the Wisconsin State Assembly since 2018. Prior to serving in office, she co-founded and ran a national youth climate organization. She was unanimously elected to serve as the Assembly Democratic Leader in 2022 and led the caucus’ effort to prevent a Republican supermajority in the following election cycle. With fair maps in place for the most recent election, she led the caucus in picking up ten additional seats, the largest increase in numbers in several decades. She is working to win the first Democratic Assembly majority in Wisconsin in 15 years.

About Pennsylvania State Representative and DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta

Representative Malcolm Kenyatta is a third-generation North Philadelphia native and legislator currently serving in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. He earned a B.A. in Public Communications and a minor in Political Science from Temple University, an M.S. in Strategic and Digital Communications from Drexel University, and completed the Harvard Kennedy School’s Executives in State and Local Government program. In 2023, he was appointed by President Joe Biden to chair the Presidential Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans.

Representative Kenyatta is a barrier-breaking public figure, becoming the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color and one of the youngest people elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 2018. In 2022, he became the first openly LGBTQ+ person of color to seek a U.S. Senate seat in American history. In April 2024, he made history again as the first openly LGBTQ+ person ever nominated for statewide office by a major political party in Pennsylvania when he became the Democratic nominee for Auditor General. In the general election, he earned nearly 3.1 million votes, the second-highest vote total for any Democrat on the ticket that year. In February 2025 he was elected as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Throughout his career, Representative Kenyatta has been a vocal proponent of protecting workers’ rights and rooting out government corruption and waste. He holds multiple legislative leadership roles, including as a member of the powerful State Government Committee with oversight of state agencies and elections, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Government Operations; Chair of the Financial Services and Banking Subcommittee in the Commerce Committee; and as a member of the Finance and Judiciary Committees.

In 2020, he was chosen to give the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention alongside a group of other ‘Rising Stars,’ and in 2024, he returned to the DNC as an individual speaker, continuing to represent the next generation of Democratic leadership. His groundbreaking political career and personal life have been the subject of two award-winning documentaries, including an Emmy nominated, Al Roker-produced feature-length film, Kenyatta: Do Not Wait Your Turn. Representative Kenyatta lives in North Philadelphia with his husband, Dr. Matthew Kenyatta, and their dog, Cleo.
