WAUSAU, WI – Tom Tiffany, candidate for governor of Wisconsin, released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers vetoed Assembly Bill 308. The bipartisan legislation would have ensured that no state, local, or pass-through federal dollars were used to fund health care for illegal aliens.
“By vetoing this bill, Governor Evers made it clear that illegal aliens come before Wisconsin taxpayers. Wisconsin Democrats are paving the way for Minnesota-style madness, where illegal aliens receive benefits while hardworking Wisconsinites pick up the tab. If Democrats take the governor’s office in 2026, you can count on them to hand out driver’s licenses, in-state tuition, and taxpayer-funded health care to illegal aliens. I will not let that happen,” said Congressman Tom Tiffany.
