WAUSAU, WI – Tom Tiffany, candidate for governor of Wisconsin, released the following statement after twelve days without a word from Governor Tony Evers. The Capital Times uncovered more than 200 cases of educator sexual misconduct and grooming between 2018 and 2023 that the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) shielded from the public. Governor Evers led DPI until 2019, yet he continues to remain silent.

“It’s clear Wisconsin’s Democrat leaders have failed our kids, parents, and victims. Parents trust schools to do two things: educate our children and keep them safe. Right now, Wisconsin is failing at both. Governor Evers’ silence in the face of this scandal is unacceptable. As governor, I will restore trust, be accountable, raise standards, and make our schools a source of pride again. We owe it to our kids to do better for their future,” said Congressman Tom Tiffany.
