MADISON—The Tommy G. Thompson Center on Public Leadership is proud to sponsor “An Evening with Tommy G. Thompson” on November 5, 2025. Hosted by UW–Milwaukee as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series, the event begins at 7 p.m. in the UW–Milwaukee Union Ballroom with a livestream available for virtual attendees.
Wisconsin’s longest-serving governor will share insights on leadership, resilience, and innovation from his decades in public service. Attendees will hear firsthand about his leadership journey and lessons learned while navigating complex challenges and driving change across state and national government.
Tommy Thompson’s distinguished career includes serving as the 42nd Governor of Wisconsin (1987–2001), the 19th U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services under President George W. Bush (2001–2005), and the 8th President of the University of Wisconsin System (2020–2022). He has earned recognition for his ability to work across party lines and shape policy on critical issues including welfare reform, school choice, health care access, and national public health preparedness.
