Madison – Congressman Mark Pocan (D-WI) today released his endorsements of statewide candidates for the 2026 election.

“I am pleased to announce my support for Sarah Godlewski for Lt. Governor, Josh Kaul for Attorney General, Eric Wilson for State Treasurer, and JoCasta Zamarripa for Secretary of State,” Pocan said.

Pocan also said he will not endorse in the Governor’s race.

“In the field for Governor, there are many good candidates and possible candidates for that office, many of whom are friends. As I did in the last open Governor’s race and the U.S. Senate primary, I do not anticipate endorsing for that office. However, I will again take on the role of being a fair arbitrator of the race, making sure that all Democrats realize the person they will be trying to defeat is a Republican and not unfairly attack a fellow Dem,” he added.

Pocan offered this of the candidates he endorsed:

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Sarah Godlewski for years as both State Treasurer and Secretary of State. She is an extraordinary public servant. Sarah is ready to go on day one to serve as Wisconsin’s Lieutenant Governor,” said Pocan.

“Josh Kaul has been an outstanding Attorney General. He fights every day for Wisconsinites in significant ways that deserve our gratitude and reelection. We are fortunate to have him as our Attorney General, and I look forward to continuing to work with him,” said Pocan.

“I got to know Eric Wilson on the campaign trail in the 3rd Congressional district last cycle. He ran a positive campaign, showed his hard work and expertise in fiscal issues, and would be a strong State Treasurer for Wisconsin. I am confident he will serve the state well,” said Pocan.

“I served with JoCasta Zamarripa in the State Assembly, and I have watched her career move forward in an extraordinary way. She fights each day for the people she represents and will be a great Secretary of State,” said Pocan.

The Democratic primary is on August 11th and the general election is on November 3rd, 2026.
