MADISON, Wis.—Leaders and researchers from the Universities of Wisconsin, UW–Madison, and UW-Milwaukee invite the media to a news conference on the importance of federally funded health research and its impact across Wisconsin. Researchers and a study participant will discuss critical research on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and the role Wisconsinites are playing in seeking ways to combat debilitating diseases. Leaders of third-party organizations will also address the issue.
The news conference will be held Thursday, March 6, at 12:15 p.m. at the UW–Madison Health Sciences Learning Center, Room 1345, 750 Highland Ave., Madison.

Parking is available in nearby Lot 76 (preferred) and Lot 75, as shown on map.wisc.edu. For loading and unloading only, vehicles may stand for up to 10 minutes near the Highland Avenue entrance of the Heath Sciences Learning Center.
Television cameras should be in place by 12 p.m. A mult-box will be available. After the news conference, media will have an opportunity to obtain B-roll and photographs of an MRI scanner and basic sciences lab.
