County urges residents to call 211 in final push for FEMA aid
Waukesha, WI – Monday, August 18, 2025, Waukesha County continues to partner with local communities to drive flood recovery. The Emergency Operations Center remains active, coordinating with public safety and public works staff to keep residents safe and speed recovery efforts.
Key Updates:
- Ongoing Coordination with Municipal Partners: County and municipal leaders remain in close communication to track needs, provide resources, and address emerging concerns across impacted communities.
- Property Damage Reports: As of today, 211 has received 1,828 reports of property damage in Waukesha County. Residents who have not yet reported damage are encouraged to do so by calling 211, for example if there was damage to finished basements.
- Public Costs: Local governments in Waukesha County have reported approximately $4.4 million in costs to date for damage to public property and expenses related to flood response and recovery.
- Private Property Damage Reports: $63.7 million estimated based on initial reports from local authorities. This dollar amount is also based on the estimated fair market value of the damaged homes.
- Road Closures and Safety Inspections: 1 county highway remains closed as of this morning. CTH DR, west of Delafield, remains closed. Public Works crews are actively inspecting impacted roadways to ensure they are safe before reopening. Residents can monitor road closure maps at https://tinyurl.com/WaukCoRoads.
- Damage Assessment Teams: Local officials and volunteers will be out in the community assisting damage assessment teams this week to document property damage and connect residents with available resources.
- Centralized Information Hub: The County’s disaster information page at www.waukeshacounty.gov/disasterinformation provides one-stop access to flood-related updates, municipal debris cleanup, safety tips, and municipal-specific information.
