Hey there, folks! Governor Tony Evers here.

This week, we’re kicking off the 174th Wisconsin State Fair!

>From getting an ice cream sundae at the Wisconsin Products Pavilion to strolling DNR’s Exploratory Park to participating in the Governor’s Livestock Auction to serving up cream puffs, State Fair is one of my favorite times of year.

And if you can believe it, Kathy and I have been going to the State Fair together for 56 years. How about that?

Last year, the State Fair saw record-breaking attendance, and I have no doubt we can do it again this year.

It’s the best darn state fair in the nation if you ask me, and every year it gets even better!

With new entertaining live acts and new experiences for the whole family, and of course, countless new foods to try, including this year’s chocolate and strawberry cream puffs.

Each year, the Wisconsin State Fair is a celebration of all that makes our state the great place it is to call home.

For 174 years, these 11 days have served as a spotlight of the proud agricultural traditions that are in our DNA as Wisconsinites and the many industries and people that made us the state we are today.

It’s also a celebration of our state’s future.
I declared 2025 the Year of the Kid in Wisconsin, and from demonstrations and learning activities designed to not only teach us about the industries that power our state and feed our families but inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders.

To our Kids from Wisconsin and State FFA honors band and choir, youth 4-H exhibits, and livestock auctions that our kids prepare all year-round for, it is easy to see the future of Wisconsin—and Wisconsin agriculture—is bright with the next generation.
So, whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, make sure to stop by, eat a cream puff—or two or three—and join us in celebrating all that makes Wisconsin, Wisconsin! Thank you.
