Hi, I’m Representative Rob Summerfield and I represent the 68th Assembly District which encompasses all of Price and Rusk County and most of Chippewa and Taylor County. I wanted to take a bit of your time today to talk to you about a couple of wins we had in transportation and EMS funding in this year’s biennial budget.

We re-upped the Agricultural Roads Improvement Program at the price of $150 million. This crucial program helps fund the construction, reconstruction, or improvement of agricultural roads in all rural communities. We also funded the Local Roads Improvement Program once again at the price of $100 million. This important program provides financial assistance to local governments in counties, cities, towns, and villages for improving our local roads and streets.

Finally, we also added $3.5 million annually for EMS training cost reimbursements for any training or materials needed to complete a course through any Wisconsin Technical College System institution.

I am proud to have voted for this funding and I thank you for your time today. Have a great rest of your week!
