Affordability is the most important concern facing Wisconsin citizens. From healthcare and housing to gas and groceries, making ends meet is just too hard these days.
Hi, this is Senator Rob Hutton. Republicans in the Legislature have made it our top priority to address the cost of living, recognizing that more government spending and higher taxes only worsens the problem.
We’ve enacted tax relief, cut the government red tape that drives up prices, voted to end Governor Evers’ 400 year property tax hike, and passed meaningful healthcare and childcare reforms to empower patients and parents.
Government has a role to play in reforming broken systems that have led to runaway costs, such as healthcare. Next year we will advance major healthcare reforms to encourage transparency and patient choice.
We must continue to address the cost of higher education, keep utility rates affordable, and permit the construction of more affordable housing.
We will continue pushing for reforms that ensure the cost of government is not on your list of things that are growing unaffordable.
