A “no” vote from Steil is a vote for the overwhelming majority of voters in his district
Whitewater, Wisconsin, July 2, 2025
The Wisconsin 1st Congressional District Democrats are urging their congressman Bryan Steil to vote “No” on the House of Representatives’ final version of Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” (BBB). This bill was passed by the Senate on July 1 and now moves to the House for amendments and voting. Steil represents Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District (CD1).Representative Steil posted on social media last night that he was:
“Off to DC to deliver the OBBB for President Trump’s signature.”
Has Steil even read the final bill? Will he propose any changes that benefit Wisconsin working families? Is Steil saying he is in favor of cutting off 250,000 Wisconsinites from healthcare including four in seven nursing home residents, one in three children, and one in three adults with disabilities.? Does he even care about CD1 families and senior citizens who will be affected? Or will he just blindly vote for the House version of the BBB to keep President Trump and the uber rich happy? Susan Chandler, Chair of the CD1 Democrats: “Will Congressman Bryan Steil stand up for the working families, senior citizens, the disabled and the children of his district or will he vote to give tax cuts to the billionaires? Steil has a choice to make, and we’re watching.
”LuAnn Bird, Hales Corners resident, past candidate for the Wisconsin Assembly 61st District and organizer of the advocacy group Birds on a Wire, adds that “This budget bill just rearranges the dollars to give more money to the wealthy by taking away healthcare and food from the disadvantaged.”
