Wisconsin Electoral Socialists (WES) is dedicated to supporting and campaigning for socialist candidates in Wisconsin. The organization is proud to endorse Amy Donahue for Executive Board Chair of the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County.

Amy Donahue is a non-binary, anti-racist, anti-Zionist parent, healthcare worker, and organizer. They are running to bring transparency and restore democracy to the county party. Donahue is a co-founder of the Milwaukee chapter of Healthcare Workers for Palestine and was on the board for Riverwest Coop for years.

They see many opportunities to bring a community organizer perspective to the county party, and to refocus on the Democratic Party’s progressive platform rather than sacrificing our core values to chase donors. While campaigning, Donahue has stated: “we have to reconnect with individuals who are finding it harder and harder to choose the lesser of two evils in elections. I can and will do this, because I have been one of them.”

Donahue’s run creates the first time in a decade that the county party has had a contested race for board chair. Typically, old leadership simply picks their replacements. This year, they picked Brett Timmerman, a wealthy real estate developer who throws lavish fundraisers.

The time has come for change in the Democratic Party. We need to elect anti-racists who will stand up to corporate power and entrenched elites on every level, from the national, to the state, to local and internal party races.

The election is on Monday, 11/17/2025. In order to be able to vote on that day, you must be a current member of The Democratic Party of Wisconsin and a resident of Milwaukee County.

Arrive in person for the election meeting at Washington Park Senior Center between 5:30pm and 6:15pm on Monday 11/17/2025.

Wisconsin Electoral Socialists members are excited to contribute their skills, experience, and labor to Amy Donahue’s campaign.
