MADISON, WI – This morning the United States Supreme Court ended their term. The high court had multiple major rulings that promote family values. Wisconsin Family Action signed onto amicus briefs for multiple cases that were victorious. Those cases included Skrmetti (protects children from harmful surgeries and therapies), Medina (empowers states to prevent Medicaid funds from funding abortion providers, and Mahmoud (protects children from LGBT indoctrination in the classroom).

On June 18, the Court ruled in Skrmetti that states can protect children with gender dysphoria from receiving irreversible gender transitioning surgeries and hormones. Earlier this year Wisconsin’s State Assembly passed our own ‘Help Not Harm’ legislation that would protect children. Wisconsin Family Action President Daniel Degner states, “Skrmetti leads the way to protect children from these harmful surgeries and hormones that will forever impact their bodies. We urge the Wisconsin State Senate to move forward and pass this crucial legislation to help Wisconsin children struggling with gender dysphoria. Governor Evers has proclaimed 2025 to be the “Year of the Kid” and we encourage him to follow through on that commitment by protecting these children from the harms of gender-altering surgeries and hormones.”

On June 26, the Court empowered states in Medina to remove taxpayer funds through Medicaid to abortion providers.

Degner continues, “We are thankful that the Supreme Court has given the green light to states that can ensure Medicaid dollars don’t go to abortion providers.”

On June 27, the Court ruled in Mahmoud that public schools must provide opt-outs for curricula that advance LGBT ideology to protect the religious freedom of families.

“This case is momentous for our families as it protects their religious freedom as well as guards their children from harmful transgender ideology being promoted in classrooms. Today marks a win for families as woke school districts around Wisconsin can no longer violate the religious liberty of families by forcing their children to be indoctrinated by curricula designed to advance the LGBT political agenda,” concludes Degner.

The United States Supreme Court made a clear distinction this term the dystopian Biden era policies of targeting family values are over. These decisions will protect elementary-aged children from dangerous surgeries and hormones, enable states to defund abortion providers, and empower parents to shield their children from LGBT activist indoctrination in the classroom.
