Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) will once again host the annual Farm and Rural Lobby Day in Madison on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. New policy set by WFU’s grassroots membership at the 95th Annual State Convention in December is informing this year’s Lobby Day priorities. Priority legislative topics for this year will include dairy policy, quality healthcare in Wisconsin, immigration reform, agricultural consolidation, rural development, and conservation and stewardship.

Government Relations Director, Michelle Ramirez-White, is encouraging family farmers and rural advocates from across the state to make their voices heard on these timely and pressing issues.

“Now, more than ever, we need the voices of our Wisconsin family farmers in the call for policy change,” Ramirez-White said. “When we come together our voices are stronger, and our annual Farm and Rural Lobby Day is a perfect example of that.”

Farm and Rural Lobby Day will begin at 10am at Madison Public Library – Central Location at 201 W. Mifflin Street, near the Capitol square. Speakers from key partner organizations and the State Legislature will provide background information on pending legislation that is of interest to farmers and rural residents to help participants prepare for their meetings with legislators. Following lunch, the group will head to the Capitol to meet with their senators and representatives, with the day’s activities wrapping up around 4pm.

There is no cost to participate, and all WFU members are welcome to attend. Not a WFU member yet? Join now at https://www.wisconsinfarmersunion.com/membership.
