CHIPPEWA FALLS – Wisconsin Farmers Union’s Sauk and Columbia Chapters are hosting a ‘Renewable Energy In Our Communities’ event for community members to get their questions regarding large-scale energy projects answered.
The featured speaker for this event is Graham Christensen, who has spent 15 years collaborating with Nebraska farmers to understand how renewable energy projects and lease agreements can be structured to prioritize the well-being of the communities where these projects are implemented. Christensen will share common concerns related to these projects, discuss how to work with developers to ensure protection, and highlight how communities have successfully united in the past.
“This event is a great opportunity for community members to get their questions answered by an expert,” said Tara Greiman, Wisconsin Farmers Union’s Director of Conservation and Stewardship. “It’s important for farmers and residents to have the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about these large-scale projects. Graham Christensen’s expertise will help guide important conversations on balancing renewable energy development with community welfare.”
