MADISON, Wis. — Josh Kaul is looking more like a circus clown than a daredevil as he eagerly auditions for the role of political stuntman, using his office as Wisconsin’s Attorney General to put on highly partisan sideshows. From hurling himself into a dizzying array of lawsuits against the Trump administration alongside far-left Attorneys General to leaping into tonight’s so-called “official” town hall in Green Bay, Kaul is swinging from one partisan maneuver to the next—less a public servant, more a campaign-trail showman.
Since President Trump took office, Kaul has jumped into at least 18 lawsuits with his Democrat counterparts, targeting the Trump Administration in a relentless barrage that defies the will of Wisconsin voters for the sake of political spectacle.
Tonight’s town hall—his first since 2019—is Kaul’s latest stunt. Traditionally, Attorneys General have used such events as a platform to tackle specific issues or legal battles, but Kaul is attempting a twist: a general town hall with no clear focus, reminiscent of the politically charged performances his Democratic allies are staging across the country. He’s balancing on a tightrope, presenting this as part of his official duties, but in reality, he’s hitting the campaign trail early.
“Josh Kaul is at it again, treating his office like a circus for partisan stunts instead of working for Wisconsinites,” said Rapid Response Director Anika Rickard. “Voters aren’t buying tickets to Kaul’s circus show—he’s not fooling anyone with these campaign-style town halls and politically motivated lawsuits masquerading as public service.”
