MADISON, WI — The Young Democrats of Wisconsin (YDW) have officially opened voting for their Democratic Gubernatorial Straw Poll, giving voters across the state the chance to weigh in on who they want to see lead the Democratic ticket in the 2026 governor’s race.

With Governor Tony Evers not seeking re-election, the Democratic field is wide open and YDW is making sure the voices of young people are heard early in the process.

This is a pivotal election for Wisconsin’s future, and young voters will once again play a critical role in shaping outcomes up and down the ballot,” said Jake Williams, Chair of the Young Democrats of Wisconsin. “As the voice of young Democrats, YDW is launching this straw poll to ensure our voices are heard in choosing the next leader of our state and the direction of our party.

The straw poll is open to any Democrat in Wisconsin.
