The leaders elected this November will determine whether Wisconsin can turn climate and clean energy priorities into policy. That is why 350 Wisconsin Action is endorsing candidates who share our vision for affordable energy, corporate accountability, community power, and a clean energy future that works for everyone.

According to recent polling, 93% of Wisconsin voters say data centers should pay for 100% of the new energy infrastructure they require, rather than shifting those costs onto ratepayers. The same polling found 84% of voters are concerned about the cost of electricity.

In the governor’s race, David Crowley has outlined a detailed plan to rein in data centers and put Wisconsin families first. His plan includes requiring data centers to pay the full cost of their power and any needed grid improvements, to pay extra to assist homeowners in lowering their energy bills, and to bring new clean energy onto the grid rather than dirty, expensive fossil fuels.

Tom Tiffany has sold out our state for corporate profits at every turn. He has voted to gut critical clean air and water protections and let corporate polluters off the hook, provide massive tax breaks to big tech companies, and voted for a bill that would have blocked all 50 states from regulating AI for 10 years.

“Wisconsin has an opportunity to do something big in 2027. We can lower energy costs, make Big Tech pay its fair share, hold monopoly utilities accountable, and build a clean energy future that works for everyone. We are making these endorsements because these are the leaders we believe can help turn that vision into reality,” said Kat Klawes, Deputy Director of 350 Wisconsin Action.

In Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, Rebecca Cooke is taking on Derrick Van Orden in one of the most competitive races in the country, a contest that could play a decisive role in control of the U.S. House. Cooke has argued that Van Orden is “more interested in helping his billionaire backers than Wisconsin families” and has pledged, “I’ll fight for a moratorium on data centers because our communities deserve leaders who don’t sell them out.”
