Crypto PAC Fairshake is out with a new ad touting U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil as a “bipartisan, results-driven” leader.
AdImpact has tracked $735,914 in reservations over the next two weeks for the 30-second spot, which first ran Tuesday. Most of that is in the Milwaukee media market, including $620,820 on broadcast TV alone.
The Janesville Republican is one of a half-dozen House lawmakers the crypto PAC plans to spend $1 million supporting, according to reporting yesterday from the Associated Press.
Steil is a member of the House Financial Services committee and chairs its subcommittee on digital assets, financial technology and artificial intelligence.
“Party doesn’t matter: you do,” the narrator tells viewers. “And nobody works harder for you than Bryan Steil.”
The narrator tells viewers Steil eliminated taxes on Social Security benefits – “because you earned it” and “wrote the bill banning members of Congress from trading stocks.”
“Bryan Steil: winning for Wisconsin,” the spot concludes.
Steil authored legislation that would have barred members of Congress from buying individual stocks and required members disclose stock sales in advance. The bill allowed members to trade other securities and allowed family members to be exempted from its restrictions.
Fairshake also spent $764,206 backing Steil during his 2024 reelection campaign.
