“Government that can’t solve problems has lost the confidence of people,” said Jon Aleckson, candidate for Assembly in the 50th District Tuesday night.  “Promises, sympathy, hopes, and popular pronouncements are ringing hollow.  It’s clear to me that voters of all kinds want action.”

“We have a crisis of government effectiveness that highlights issues and troubles but rarely fixes them. Good intentions are not enough.  As a retired businessman whose educational technology company was successful. I had to overcome all challenges to deliver for my customer.  That is the difference between me and those who work within the political system.  That’s why I decided to run, a first for me.”

“Legislators usually have good intentions, but a weak record of achievements,” Aleckson stated.  “The Legislature is a big committee that struggles.  Struggling is not a plan, but success is.”

“Restore Wisconsin is my strategy,” Jon continued.  So far, I have addressed issues related to seniors being taxed out of their homes, young people finding affordable starter homes, and farmer’s access to group health insurance.  I intend to get ideas before the legislature. 

“Also, I plan to be an advocate.  That means organizing popular support within the 50th District which is Green County and southwestern Dane County.  But also, I will find ways to extend that support elsewhere in Wisconsin so that the legislature will know that there is lots of popular support for these changes.  That’s how things get done,” Aleckson concluded.  

“That is also how we achieve greater civility in our public activities, working together to achieve success.”
