The GOP-aligned American Action Network announced new ads praising U.S. Reps. Derrick Van Orden in western Wisconsin’s 3rd CD and Bryan Steil in southeastern Wisconsin’s 1st.

The group said it was spending nearly $1 million combined on the buy that’s part of a national broadcast, digital and mail advertising campaign. It didn’t release details of the Wisconsin buys, including what markets the ads will run in.

AAN last week announced a $22 million summer issue advocacy campaign in 41 house districts through Sept. 3.

As of last night, AdImpact had tracked more than $316,000 reserved in the 3rd CD on broadcast TV in the La Crosse market.

The spot praising Van Orden, who faces Dem Rebecca Cooke in November, says he’s fighting for a Wisconsin that rolls “up our sleeves before sunup to get the job done.”

That includes focusing “on making your life more affordable.” The narrator adds Van Orden “stopped elitist DC politicians from raising our taxes” and voted to protect family farms.

The narrator closes the ad, “Thank Derrick Van Orden. Tell him to keep fighting for Wisconsin families.”
