MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Tonight, Assembly Democrats won 8 seats, securing a majority in the chamber for the 2027-28 legislative session. Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer released the following statement:

“This is a historic night. I am so proud of the incredible people who stepped up to run for Assembly in Wisconsin this year. They understood that this would be hard, that they would have to knock on doors every single day, face millions of dollars in attack ads, have to take time away from their families, and potentially face threats or violence. But they did it anyway, because they understood that this was our best shot in decades — our shot to win the democratic trifecta, our shot to set Wisconsin on a new path. Our candidates and our members believe the people of our state deserve better.

“And Wisconsin does deserve better. With this trifecta, we will end decades of Republican obstruction and build great schools, help families feel financially secure and to save for retirement. We will hold big tech accountable, protect our rights and freedoms, and make Wisconsin a state where everyone can thrive.

“We know that people will be counting on us to deliver, and we will deliver. Alongside Governor David Crowley and our Democratic colleagues in the senate, we will show that government can be a force for good and that things can be different with democrats in charge.

“There are way too many people to thank, thousands and thousands of people who helped us fight our way out of a democracy desert in Wisconsin. Our very talented and dedicated staff, led by Morgan Hess, our brave candidates, our volunteers who showed up day after day, our partners who never stopped believing, even in those very difficult years. And of course, the voters. We take our jobs as your representatives incredibly seriously, and we will work hard every day to do right by you.

“Tonight we celebrate, tomorrow we get to work.”
