Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes released a new video slamming Amazon and the National Football League for blocking millions of loyal Packers fans from watching tomorrow’s Packers-Bears playoff game, the first since the Packers Super Bowl run in 2011 and only the third in NFL history.

40% of Wisconsinites  won’t be able to watch on their hometown broadcast stations due to the NFL’s exclusive rights deal with Amazon.

“Amazon and the NFL are ripping off Wisconsinites to grow their own pocketbooks. The Packers are the only team in the league not owned by billionaires, but we are still getting screwed by mega corporations,” said Lieutenant Governor Barnes in the new video.

“As Governor, I’ll fight to make sure every game is broadcast to every Wisconsinite in all 72 counties. Enough is enough—these corporations are screwing us. Football should be for the fans, not just subscribers.”

Lieutenant Governor Barnes’ fight for Packers fans is a stark contrast from Congressman Tom Tiffany, who has failed to sign onto bipartisan legislation to give all Wisconsinites access to games even if they’re located out of market.

More than 415,000 Wisconsinites can’t watch regular-season Packers matchups, and most counties deemed out-of-market by the NFL are in Tiffany’s own 7th Congressional District—including Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Dunn, Iron, Pierce, Polk, Sawyer, St. Croix, and Washburn.

But Tiffany looks the other way, forcing his constituents to watch Minnesota Vikings games throughout the regular season, all while he rakes in thousands of dollars in corporate donations from Amazon and other corporations.
