Following Donald Trump’s rambling stop in Chippewa Falls to talk about everything but how his policies are hurting Wisconsin farmers, Mandela Barnes went on CNN and MSNOW to respond to Trump’s visit:
“A couple days prior to [Trump’s] visit, I made a stop to the Chippewa Valley—the exact same county that Donald Trump was in—and I had my own roundtable discussion with a group of family farmers who aired their grievances.
“They talked about how they’ve been absolutely failed by the President. Trump said that ‘things would get better in a few weeks.’ The fact is things have gotten worse because of Donald Trump’s poor decision making and Tom Tiffany has been with him every step of the way. This illegal war in Iran has driven up fuel costs for people, the tariffs and the devastating impact that have made it difficult for our small businesses and our family farms.
Mandela Barnes also talked about his agenda to lower costs for working families:
People across Wisconsin know exactly how I will stand up and continue to fight for them to make things better, to improve our public schools, our roads and bridges, and get more money in the pockets of working people by holding the wealthy and the elite accountable, by taxing the billionaires… We are going to turn this whole broken system upside down.”
