RACINE, Wis. – Today, Congressman Mark Pocan (WI-02) endorsed Mitchell Berman in the race for Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, Congressman Pocan is widely recognized for his outspoken advocacy on working-class issues.

Congressman Pocan issued the following statement:

“As a union member and someone who knows what it takes to stand up for workers, I am proud to endorse Mitchell Berman for Congress. Washington would be a better place if we had more representatives like Mitchell, folks who have personal experience with the struggles people are facing every day. We need more fighters for affordable healthcare, tackling the cost of living, and ending corruption to help turn things around and make life better for Wisconsin families. Mitchell has spent his entire career serving others, including over a decade serving veterans at the VA, and I’m confident that he will be the public servant and fighter that the First Congressional District needs.”

Congressman Pocan and Berman are campaigning together across the First Congressional District today. The two are making stops in Kenosha, Racine, and Janesville on the “Enough BS Tour,” exposing how Bryan Steil has put billionaires and special interests ahead of Wisconsinites and highlighting Berman’s commitment to putting working people first.

Mitchell continues to build momentum to flip this battleground seat. Recent polling found Mitchell and Steil neck-and-neck, and Wisconsin voters are clearly fed up with years of Steil siding with Trump and D.C. politicians to raise costs and hurt Wisconsin families.

About Mitchell Berman

Mitchell Berman was raised in a one-stoplight town in rural Wisconsin. His father built a small roofing business from the ground up and his mother worked long hours grinding pistons at the local foundry. Mitchell was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning his degree while working three jobs, living paycheck to paycheck, and taking out student loans. With more than 23 years of experience in healthcare, Mitchell is a registered nurse and spent over a decade serving veterans, active duty servicemembers, and their families at the VA. He continues to serve as a board-certified emergency nurse today.
