Janesville, WI — In today’s WLCO debate, Bryan Steil tried to run from his record raising costs and putting special interests and his donors ahead of Wisconsin families. Steil rubber stamped every price-spiking policy of the Trump administration including the Iran War, the tariffs, the health care cuts, and the tax breaks for billionaires paid for by regular families. Steil took cash from Wall Street and his corporate donors and sided with them.

The massive fallout for Wisconsin farmers and manufacturers was described by Spectrum News:

  • “Data from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue showed that Wisconsin’s exports to Canada— our state’s largest international trade partner— ranged between $7.5 and $8.6 billion over the past five years, but this disruption to that could have a lasting impact on Wisconsin’s economy for years.”
  • Voted every single time to continue the Iran War, even as Wisconsinites are paying record highs at the pump and diesel prices skyrocket.
  • Voted for the largest cuts the Medicaid in history to pay for tax breaks for billionaires – raising costs for families so he could give a handout to his donors.
  • Took money from the country’s biggest corporate landlord, then cut renters’ assistance: Steil voted to cut rental assistance for more than 600,000 families after his campaign took $33,700 from Blackstone’s CEO and employees.
