RACINE, WI — Today, the Mitchell Berman for Congress campaign released a new TV ad, “PULL.” The ad contrasts Berman’s commitment to the rural district’s values with Steil’s pay-to-play, pro-data-center record.

“Bryan Steil says he wants Wisconsin to be ‘a great place’ for data centers,” Berman says in the ad. “So that’s why they’ve given him nearly $300,000.”

Mitchell Berman, an ER nurse and lifelong sportsman from rural Wisconsin, knows that Wisconsinites can’t afford to foot the bill for data centers’ tax breaks, and don’t want their local environments ravaged by data centers.

  • Bryan Steil has accepted nearly $300,000 in donations from data center developers and big tech interests. In return, he voted to give them $70 billion in special tax breaks.
  • Mitchell Berman rejects all corporate PAC donations. He will fight to end tax breaks for data centers, ensure no Wisconsinite is left footing the bill for big tech’s energy demands, and protect rural Wisconsin’s treasured public lands.

With only weeks left until election day, Berman’s campaign continues to build momentum. Wisconsin’s First District is now one of the most competitive House races in the country. A House Majority PAC poll released earlier this month shows Berman leading Steil by one point (48-47). This poll comes after two other public polls that both show the race within one point. Last month, the DCCC added Berman to its competitive “Red to Blue” list.

TRANSCRIPT

{Speaker: Mitchell Berman}

I grew up in rural Wisconsin — hunting and fishing.

For us, it’s a way of life, not just a hobby.

Bryan Steil says he wants Wisconsin to be “a great place” for data centers.

So that’s why they’ve given him nearly $300,000.

So what did they get in return?

$70 billion in special tax breaks.

They use our water and our power, take our land, we get the bill.

(PULL!)

I’m Mitchell Berman and I approve this message because Wisconsin isn’t for sale.

{Speaker: Mitchell’s youngest daughter}

Great shot, dad!
