1st CD Dem candidate Mitchell Berman opens fire on data centers and his GOP opponent in a new ad.

In the 30-second spot, the Raymond emergency room nurse tells viewers he grew up hunting and fishing in rural Wisconsin.

“For us, it’s a way of life, not just a hobby,” Berman says, standing in front of a truck bed laden with skeet shooting gear.

As Berman’s grade school-aged kids roll up on ATVs, he tells viewers his opponent, U.S. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Janesville, wants to make Wisconsin a “great place” for data centers and has received over $300,000 in campaign contributions from big tech companies, while those companies have claimed $70 billion in special tax breaks.

“They use our water and power, take our land, we get the bill,” Berman says as he hoists a shotgun. “Pull!”

He then blows a clay pigeon labelled “data centers” out of the sky and tells viewers that Wisconsin “isn’t for sale.”

“Great shot, Dad!” one of his daughters shouts.
