WASHINGTON, D.C. — Black Men Vote PAC is celebrating Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley’s victory in the Democratic primary for Governor of Wisconsin, advancing a proven leader with deep roots in the communities he seeks to serve to the general election.

Black Men Vote PAC endorsed Crowley because of his record of delivering results on issues that directly affect Black men and their families, including workforce development, entrepreneurship, housing, health care, and economic opportunity. His victory sends a clear message that voters are ready for leadership grounded in both lived experience and a demonstrated ability to deliver.

“This is a big win for David Crowley, for Wisconsin, and for everyone who believes government should create real opportunity for working people,” said Michael Bland, Executive Director of Black Men Vote PAC. “We were proud to endorse David because he has the experience, the record, and the understanding of our communities to lead this state. Today, we celebrate this victory, and then the work begins.”

Crowley’s victory builds on a career of breaking barriers and delivering results. In 2020, he became the youngest and first Black Milwaukee County Executive, bringing his experience as a community organizer and state legislator to the leadership of Wisconsin’s largest county. As County Executive, Crowley has worked to strengthen Milwaukee County’s finances while investing in housing, economic development, public health, and opportunities for working families.

His nomination also marks a significant moment for Black political leadership in Wisconsin and an opportunity to ensure that the priorities of Black men and their families remain at the center of the conversation heading into November.

For Black Men Vote PAC, the primary is only the beginning.

“Black men cannot be treated as voters who only matter when an election is close,” Bland added. “Our work is about building lasting political power by engaging Black men early, talking about the issues that matter in their lives, and turning that engagement into votes. We congratulated David tonight, and tomorrow we get back to work.”

Heading into the general election, Black Men Vote PAC will continue engaging Black men across Wisconsin around the stakes of the governor’s race and the issues that shape their everyday lives, including access to good-paying jobs, quality education and health care, opportunities to start and grow businesses, and pathways to long-term economic security.
