MADISON, Wis. – It turns out that Democrat David Crowley’s claim that he went “above and beyond to disclose” a conflict of interest involving taxpayer funds for a nonprofit that employed his wife was a total lie.
New reporting from the Daily Caller reveals that Crowley greenlit between $6.5 million and $17.85 million in taxpayer funds to Community Advocates, which employed Ericka Crowley, before he disclosed the conflict of interest. This raises more concerns for the embattled candidate whose explanations for this growing scandal clearly aren’t adding up with less than two weeks to go until Election Day.
“Wisconsin simply can’t trust Corrupt Crowley to look after our taxpayer dollars and put the welfare of the people of our state before his own interests. His feeble excuses in the face of growing scandal are falling apart. He owes voters a real explanation for his blatantly unethical conduct.” said WisGOP Spokesperson Anika Rickard.
