GOP Rep. Rob Brooks announced today he won’t seek reelection this fall after 12 years in the Assembly.
Brooks, who turns 61 in July, is the ninth member of the Assembly to announce plans to retire or seek higher office.
He served 14 years on the Ozaukee County Board prior to his 2014 election to the Assembly.
“While I am stepping away from office, I still care deeply about the future of Wisconsin,” Brooks said. “Strong leadership in Madison matters, and it is important that we continue to elect people who understand our communities and are willing to stand up for them.”
