(Brown County, Wis.) – In accordance with the State of Wisconsin canceling its tornado drills, Brown County Emergency Management is canceling its annual tornado drills scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, due to this week’s severe weather events in several communities here in Brown County.

Considering the active responses and recovery efforts involving local agencies, volunteers, and Brown County Emergency Management, it has been determined not to proceed with the scheduled drills that may place extra strain on resources. There will not be a rescheduling for these drills. The typical Wednesday siren test will resume on April 22, 2026, at Noon.

Brown County Emergency Management appreciates the agencies and community members assisting with storm impacts, damage assessments, and support of local families and loved ones currently dealing with the flooding and storm damage.

As Brown County proclaimed this week Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, we encourage everyone to learn about tornado safety, review personal emergency plans, and stay vigilant as weather can change without warning. You can find more information at https://readywisconsin.wi.gov/tornadoes/
