NONPARTISAN ORGANIZATION TO HELP WISCONSIN COMMUNITIES COLLABORATE AND STAND UP TO BIG TECH

Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Sept 10, 2026.  Charlie Berens (comedian/Emmy-winning journalist/beer enthusiast) and a team of fellow Wisconsinites are launching Build Wisconsin Better, a nonpartisan organization for Wisconsinites navigating Big Tech proposals and development. BWB launches today and will empower Wisconsinites by informing them of upcoming development and connecting them with other grassroots organizations that have formed across the state. As Berens puts it, “This is the most bipartisan issue since beer.”

Since Berens posted his first video about Port Washington’s hyperscale AI data center last year, he’s been inundated with people asking how they can help. So he and a group of other concerned Wisconsinites set up Build Wisconsin Better, hoping to put that enthusiasm into action. “Think of this as a potluck,” Berens said. “Whatever you got, bring it to the table. We’re looking for skills, information, ideas and donations. Everyone’s invited. Even Bears fans.”

What started with Berens and local experts holding educational community events across the state has evolved into a platform that puts residents back in the driver’s seat.

“We don’t want Big Tech to decide the future of Wisconsin. We want Wisconsinites to decide the future of Wisconsin.” – Charlie Berens

Build Wisconsin Better’s website https://buildwisconsinbetter.org/ is now live. Wisconsinites can stay informed about the issues, contribute expertise, and participate in upcoming events and fundraisers.
