Centro, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the Latinx community in Dane County, will host its 2026 Strategic Update on April 17 from 9:00–11:00 a.m. at 2403 Cypress Way.

Centered on the theme “Thriving,” this year’s Strategic Update will feature key announcements aimed at advancing opportunities and long-term success for the Latinx community. The event will include a light breakfast, offering attendees the opportunity to connect and engage with fellow community members and supporters.

Centro’s 2026 Strategic Update is open to the public and registration is encouraged at: Strategic Update 2026 | Centro Hispano, Inc.

Centro was founded in 1983 by community volunteers. Ilda Thomas, who began as Centro’s first Executive Director led a space centered on supporting the emergent needs of Cuban refugees. Since then, Centro has played a pivotal role in advocating for an equitable, thriving, supportive community for all Latinx, the fastest growing minoritized group in Dane County and Wisconsin. For the past 15 years, the Strategic Update has served as an annual tradition, providing insight into Centro’s priorities and vision for the year ahead.
