Attendees will learn about City employment, apply on-site, and participate in sessions to assist with their job search

MILWAUKEE – The City of Milwaukee is gearing up to celebrate one of its biggest community events! On Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the City’s 2026 Career and Resource Fair will take place at City Hall, located at 200 E Wells Street, Milwaukee.

This event will feature representatives from various City of Milwaukee departments and community partners, who will speak with attendees about job opportunities, positions aligned with their experience and skills, and resources available for both their professional and personal lives. Additionally, the fair will host several in-person sessions where attendees can learn about the application process for City of Milwaukee jobs, how to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and receive information on apprenticeship programs, careers in engineering, healthcare, public works, and more.

“The City of Milwaukee is known for being a good employer. That’s why so many talented people have built their careers here,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said. “I welcome everyone interested in the wide range of employment possibilities in city government to join us on April 18th.”

Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in “Interview 101,” held in collaboration with the University of Milwaukee (UWM). These sessions are designed to guide participants in conducting successful job interviews. In addition, attendees can participate in “Mock Interviews,” where they will experience a simulated job interview with City employees and receive constructive feedback and advice to apply during their job search.

As if that weren’t enough, the “Ready for Work!” fashion show returns this year! City leaders and colleagues will model examples of appropriate workplace attire—a unique way to offer suggestions and advice to potential candidates. All set to the sounds of DJ DeJota!

The City of Milwaukee Job and Resource Fair is FREE to the public. For those arriving by car, prepaid parking is available for the first 300 vehicles at the lot located at 1000 North Water Street (the entrance is at 1001 N Market Street). Please register upon your arrival at the event and let us know if you parked at 1000 North Water Street so that we can provide you with a voucher.
