A new spot from the GOP-aligned Congressional Leadership Fund says it’ll be the third time voters say ‘no’ to 3rd CD Dem challenger Rebecca Cooke.
The new 30-second spot, running in the Eau Claire and La Crosse media markets, is the group’s third creative knocking Cooke.
AdImpact has tracked over $2 million in spending from CLF in the district since the Aug. 11 primary. The ad begins with Tom, identified as a farmer, and John, identified as a retired cop, sitting at a bar.
John says Cooke “pals around with ‘defund the police’ radicals” while a picture of Cooke with former Dem gubernatorial candidate and Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is shown.
Tom goes on to say Cooke supports “the death tax on family farms,” which “makes it hard for the farm to stay in the family.”
A bartender introduced as Debbie then says she’s “working doubles just to cover my groceries” while Cooke “supports our money going to welfare for illegals.”
“Third time she’s asking for our vote,” Tom says. Debbie responds, saying, “Third time we’re saying ‘no.’”
Cooke is facing U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, who defeated Cooke by a few percentage points in 2024.
