EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) endorsed Rebecca Cooke for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District. The latest labor endorsement adds to the broad coalition of support Cooke is building in the district.

“I will always look out for working families in Wisconsin and I’m honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the hard-working men and women of AFSCME,” Rebecca Cooke said. “They know first hand how extreme politicians and anti-worker laws like Act 10 have decimated Wisconsin’s middle class. They deserve a Representative in Congress who is going to have their back, pass the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act and PRO Act and fight for our way of life.”

“Rebecca Cooke is ready to take on the corporate billionaires who are driving up costs for working people across Wisconsin,” said Sue Conard, Wisconsin AFSCME Retirees Chapter 32 President. “Rebecca is from a new generation of leaders who are ready to fight for us. She knows what it’s like to work hard and still struggle in Wisconsin, and she’s ready to bring solutions to Washington. AFSCME members are proud to endorse Rebecca Cooke because she stands with working people.”

AFSCME’s 1.4 million members across the United States include nurses, corrections officers, child care providers, sanitation workers and much more. AFSCME advocates for fairness in the workplace, excellence in public services and freedom and opportunity for all working families.

Rebecca is also endorsed by Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, 16 Members of Congress, State Senator Brad Pfaff, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Councils 7 & 82, Office and Professional Employees International Union, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation (SMART) Union, UFCW Local 1473, Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, IBEW State Conference, League of Conservation Voters, American Association for Justice (AAJ), End Citizens United, the Blue Dog Coalition, the New Dem Action Fund, Elect Democratic Women, EMILY’s List, and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare PAC.
