EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, Rebecca Cooke, candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District, is announcing the support of another labor union, the American Postal Workers Union of Wisconsin.

“I’m so proud to have the support of APWU of Wisconsin and their members from across West Central Wisconsin,” said Rebecca Cooke. “Postal workers show up every single day for Wisconsin families, no matter the weather, no matter the circumstances. I will fight just as hard for them in Congress. Together, we are going to stand up for good-paying union jobs, protect the right to vote by mail and reject efforts to privatize this vital service.”

“At the APWU of Wisconsin Biennial State Convention the delegates overwhelmingly endorsed Rebecca Cooke who is running for Congress in the 3rd District of Wisconsin, ” said Paul McKenna, president, APWU of Wisconsin. “In Congress Rebecca Cooke will be a strong voice for unions, working families, women’s rights, farmers and small businesses. We are very proud to give Rebecca our endorsement. We look forward to working for her candidacy and working with her when she represents the 3rd District in Congress.”

This latest endorsement adds to Rebecca’s broad coalition of support from Wisconsin organized labor. Rebecca is also endorsed by the Wisconsin Education Association Council, Iron Workers Locals 383 and 512, the Communications Workers of America (CWA), the Wisconsin State Council of Machinists, AFSCME, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Councils 7 & 82, Office and Professional Employees International Union, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation (SMART) Union, UFCW Local 1473, Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, and IBEW State Conference. She’s garnered the support of a broad coalition of farmers, small business owners, educators and healthcare workers across western Wisconsin.
