EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, Rebecca Cooke issued the following statement on President Donald Trump’s Abduction of Nicolas Maduro:
“Donald Trump and I don’t agree on much, but one thing we used to agree on is ending American involvement in endless foreign wars. I applaud the excellent work of the CIA and Delta teams in capturing a ruthless dictator in Nicolas Maduro — but where is the concrete plan for stability in the region? We haven’t seen one yet. Without it, our nation involves itself in another foreign conflict. I am disappointed — as I’m sure many Wisconsinites are disappointed — to see this administration betray a central promise when communities across Western Wisconsin are struggling.
“Working Wisconsinites still face sky-rocketing healthcare costs, rising rents, and higher prices in the grocery store checkout line. My focus is improving the lives of Americans — America first — and that should be the President’s as well.”
Rebecca is endorsed by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, 16 Members of Congress, State Senator Brad Pfaff, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Councils 7 & 82, Office and Professional Employees International Union, Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation (SMART) Union, UFCW Local 1473, Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council, IBEW State Conference, American Association for Justice (AAJ), End Citizens United, the Blue Dog Coalition, the New Dem Action Fund, Elect Democratic Women, EMILY’s List, Welcome PAC, and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare PAC. She’s also garnered the support of a broad coalition of farmers, small business owners, educators and healthcare workers across western Wisconsin. View the full list of endorsers here.
