3rd CD Dem Rebecca Cooke is up with a second ad calling for a data center moratorium, this time adding her pledge not to take corporate PAC money because she doesn’t want to be “beholden to any of these big tech companies.”
Cooke has nearly $3.2 million in buys between the Aug. 11 primary and the Nov. 3 election, according to AdImpact.
AdImpact has now tracked more than $25.4 million in reservations in the 3rd CD. That includes $15.9 million by Cooke and those backing her.
The new 30-second spot is running in the Eau Claire, La Crosse and Wausau media markets. In it, Cooke is seen in a kitchen talking to two people identified as Mike and Michelle.

“What I’m trying to wrap my head around is why make it easier for these AI and data centers to come in?” Michelle says.
Cooke says in the ad, “I’m in huge favor of a moratorium. I’ve taken the corporate PAC pledge because I don’t want to be beholden to any of these big tech companies.”
Earlier this month, Cooke released another ad that also called for a data center moratorium. That one also featured Mike, who says U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, “sold us out” on data centers.
